Christmas Party

Our Family of 4

We had our annual Christmas open house. I think it may have been our biggest yet, 41 people total and only 2 people pulled a no show. It was a lot of fun to have all our family and friends over. Marley and Belle are enjoying the holidays. Belle is attacking decorations on the tree, luckily she hasn't climbed the tree....yet. It is nice to have all the snow here. This will be my first Christmas away from home so at least it will be a white Christmas so its not entirely weird.

Ultra Sound #2

Here the baby is making a gun with it's hand

Profile of the baby
Well I finally got another ultra sound. I was much more excited for this one because I would actually get to see something that looks like a baby. The Ultra Sound Technician didn't say much in regard to the health of the baby. He did say that it was moving around a lot and that it was hard to get images because it was moving so much. He even laughed a few times at what the baby was doing. Derek and I got to see all the parts of the baby including the heart, stomach, bladder, and kidney's. I also got to see my cervix and how the placenta is attached to it. He did say my placenta was high which is good. I am a bit freaked out already seeing how small my cervix is compared to the baby and I am only half way....ouch! I don't see me OB until December 23 so I am hoping that it will be all good new.

3rd in the Province!

Well Volleyball is finally over. We ended our season on a very high note, finishing 3rd in the AAA High School Championship. I was so proud of all my players, they came such a long way since the beginning on the season. It is too bad I won't be able to coach them next year, unless of course I bring my new born to practice and games every day of the week.

Santa

Santa on Derek's Knee
Derek with Santa
With all the small children around us, Derek was feeling a little bit jealous that they got to have a visit with Santa. So Derek, being the kid he is, had to stand in line at the mall to get his shot on Santa's knee. He apparently asked for a "more loving wife". I told him he is lucky as they don't get much more loving than me;)

4 Months (18.5 weeks)

Me at 18.5 weeks

Well I am now officially 4 months pregnant. Its hard to believe that in less than 2 weeks I will be half way, it has gone by so fast. I feel like I am not getting bigger, and I most certainly don't look pregnant yet. Mainly it looks like I am getting a fat belly. I have, however, gained 14 lbs now. Its weird because when I compare myself to the 13 week picture I haven't changed that much but still gained 10 lbs since then. I am not too worried, the doctor says I have gained to normal amount of weight. I go for my second ultra sound next week, Derek and I are very excited to see how much the baby has changed since our 8 week ultra sound. I will post the ultra sound picture as soon as I get it.

Volleyball

McRoberts Strikers Volleyball
Richmond Champions
Lower Mainland Champions

Alana and Sarah in Action (From Newspaper)
My volleyball teams has been doing very well. Our last major tournament before playoffs was at Pacific Academy in Surrey where we placed 4th. During our Richmond league play we went undefeated, wining our last game against our rivals McMath. It was the first time my grade 11's have ever beat McMath since grade 8 so it was an exciting win. We then went right into Richmond playoffs where we went undefeated and again had to face McMath in our last game which was the Final. We beat them in 5 sets. It was another exciting win. One of my starting powers blew out her ankle in the 2nd set which was devastating for us. My thoughts were she was out for the season.
After being Richmond champs I had my first newspaper interview as a coach. I have always been on the player side of interviews so it was nice to experience it from both sides. We went into the lower mainland championships on a wining note. We went through pool play undefeated. We easily won our quarterfinals and moved onto the semi finals to play a team I didn't want to face until the finals. Lucky for us we were on fire and crushed Gladstone in 2 straight sets. Which sent us to the final the play Crofton, a team we had never seen before. We were very luck to get our power back from her ankle injury for this game, because without her presence I think the results would have been different. We ended up becoming Lower Mainland Champions. We are now off to provincials in Langley. We are going to be seeded 4, 5, or 6 in the province which gives us a good chance at finishing in the top 8.

14 Weeks Completed!

Well today I have finished my 14th week of pregnancy. I am slowly starting show, but it just looks like I am getting a roll. When I first got pregnant I weighed 128.8lbs and now 14 weeks later I weigh 134.4lbs, so I have gained 5.4lbs. I figure thats not to bad. I had my first appointment with my OB, Dr. Tkatch. She is the same OB that delivered Macin (Lindsays son). Lindsay really liked her so that makes me feel more comfortable. I got to hear the babys heart beat for the first time which was very exciting. The Dr. says that everything feel, looks, and sounds great! I have my next ultra sound on December 11 and can't wait to see how much it has changed since 8 weeks.

Video Montage

Ok So I totally copied Jolene on this one, but I thought it was very neat. So I created my own video montage of our Wedding. I still can't get over how beautiful our pictures turned out, thank you so much Rob and Julia for capturing every moment so perfectly.

Out of all the seasons Fall has to be my favourite.  I love the sunny, crisp fall days and the changing colours all around us.  This year we took Brayden (Derek's Nephew) to a Pumpkin Patch.  Being from Prince George this was my first time to a Pumpkin Patch and I very much enjoyed it.

Also, last Sunday at our weekly family dinner all the kids dressed up in their costumes.  Brayden was a Dinosaur, Ailish has the choice of being a Bunny or a Pink Flamingo, and both Samantha and Keira were pumpkins.  We managed to get a few decent shots of them in their costume.

This year will be the first time Derek and I will have to hand out Halloween candy and I am very excited to see all the kids in their costumes.  I am sure this excitement will wear off after I have to run up and down the stairs all night to answer the door;)
