Week 30!!!!!

Well I am now 3/4 of the way through my pregnancy and let me tell you I am ready for it to be done NOW! I have gained 30lbs which I feel OK with, I always figured if I gained roughly 1lb a week for a total of 40 I would be doing good. When my mom was pregnant with me she gained between 60 & 70 pounds, was over 2 weeks late and gave birth to a 9lb 4oz baby with a HUGE head. Needless to say I am preparing myself for a 10 pound baby. My last appointment with my OB went well, I am measuring big for how far along I am so I hoping that perhaps I will be earlier rather than later. I had my gestational diabetes test along with other normal blood tests and they all came back good.
Derek and I went to a prenatal class at the Peace Arch Hospital, where I will be delivering, on Saturday. It wasn't as long and boring as I thought it would be. We got a tour of the Maternity ward which was nice. It is a very small ward, only 3 delivery rooms and 7 postpartum beds. There are 2 private rooms so I am crossing my fingers that I get one of those. We also got to watch a baby having his first bath. Derek and I were very entertained during the class, there was one women that walked in after the first break drinking a Rockstar! Then there was this one skinny dude that kept asking questions about still birth, babies dying after birth, and women dying during birth. We figure maybe he took out some sort of life insurance policy.
We have narrowed our names down now, who know if it will change in the next 10 weeks. For a girl - Adriana Katrina Hurley
For a boy - Connor Matthew Hurley
I have a strong feeling it is a boy so we will see in roughly 10 weeks from now.

Valentines Day

Derek and I had a very nice Valentines Day together. Derek started off the day by serving me breakfast in bed, it was very delicious. Then for my gift Derek bought me a Snoogle, a pregnancy pillow which makes a huge difference in comfort while I am sleeping. I bought Derek a new workout shirt and shorts. Then Derek surprised me with snowshoeing, we drove to Seymour and snowshoed to the top of Dog Mountain. It was a pretty easy trail going up and down the entire way. We had a packed lunch when we got to the top. After snowshoeing we went for dinner to the Olive Garden. Both of us had never been, we got there at 4:30 and there was already a 75min wait, so we did some shopping to kill the time. Dinner was delicious, I had a portebello stuffed ravioli in a 4 cheese and sundried tomato sauce.

ITTYBIT

Ittybit
Ittybit is our baby's first stuffed animal from my Auntie Darlene. It is so soft and cute! This past weekend Derek and I did our Baby Registry at Baby's r Us. It was so much fun to pick out cute baby things. We are still on the hunt for chocolate brown fitted crib sheets, so if anyone knows where I can get one please let me know. I found one at baby's world, but it cost $70 and I can justify spending that much on a sheet alone.

More Baby Belly's

This past weekend Derek and I had a nice visit with our friends Rob and Julia who now live on the Island. We hadn't seen them since they day they told us they were expecting a baby, which was in August. Julia is exactly 4 weeks ahead of me. It is so nice having other pregnant gals around. After looking at the pictures I realize I must start wearing black rather than bright colours so I don't look so HUGE!!!!!
