Week 38

Amanda and I in our 38th week

Well I am officially full term now, so the baby could come any day now. I read that 80% of baby's are born within 10 days of the due date so I am suspecting it will be anywhere between April 30 and May 19. I am hoping for May 10 (Mothers Day). My belly button is popping out a bit and I have a very faint line above my belly button. I was up 40lbs but ended up losing 2 lbs so I am now up 38lbs. I don't suspect I will gain more, which is good because I thought I would gain way more! This week is my last week of work, I wish I would have made last week the end as I am very tired and could pretty much fall asleep at any point in the day. Now it is just the waiting game. I am very curious as to whether it is a boy or a girl???

Jack and Jill Baby Shower

Dave and Jolene through Derek and I a Jack and Jill Baby Shower. It was suppose to be a surprise but I kinda figured something was up, but it was still a nice surprise. There was lots of people there and for many of the men there it was their first Baby Shower experience. We got lots a beautiful gifts. Thanks to everyone who made it out and for your generous gifts. Now all we need is a Baby! Less then one month to go.

Our friends Rob and Julia had their baby on April 8, she was 6 days overdue. They had a beautiful healthy baby girl, Sienna Grace Campbell, she was 6lbs 13oz. Congratulations guys.

Baby Nursery

Well the baby nursery is finally complete. Derek is concerned that it is too white, but I really like the simplicity of the room. We do need to add something to the walls. We are thinking of waiting until the baby is born and then put up block letters of the baby's name. I feel pretty confident just putting up Connor but you never know.

I am now in my 36th week and can't wait till this pregnancy thing is all over with. I am still having a lot of pain due to my sacroiliac ligament, some days are better than others but a day doesn't go by where I am not in pain. My last day of work is April 24th which is a Pro D Day so my last day will be easy. With Easter and Doctor appointments I only have 8 days of work left.

Pain in my BUTT

Well I think I have over done it this time. I thought I was being so good being active during pregnancy; going to the gym, joining a prenatal group fitness class, and walking regularly....not to mention my plan to work for as long as possible. For the past month I have been having a pain in my right butt check which I thought was my sciatic nerve, well it turns out that my sacroiliac ligament (the ligament which stabilizes your pelvis) is stretched out due to my hormones being pregnant. This is a very common symptom but apparently not as bad as I have it. This weekend I was pretty much unable to walk and when I did it was more of a hobble. The pain is not only in my butt, but I now get shooting pains up my back and down my legs. I think it was my fitness class on Thursday that put me over the edge.... we did stair running! So now, needless to say I can't workout (unless I happen to have good day), physio can't do anything for me because they can't use ultrasound or Interferential Current, and I may have to stop work earlier than planned. Only good thing about this is my Dr. said it is setting me up for an easier natural birth. Oh how I love being pregnant! Only 40 more days!

The Last Little Getaway

Derek and I went away this past weekend for our last little getaway before the baby arrives. We stayed at a bed and breakfast in Sechelt called A Place By The Sea. It was a very beautiful B&B. It had a magnificent view of the ocean, a gas fireplace, 2 person jacuzzi, and a King sized bed (I must say our bed was much better). Each morning we had breakfast delivered to our Captains Cove Suite which was delicious. We spent our time walking along the ocean, eating and sleeping. It was a very relaxing weekend for us. The lady who runs the B&B says she is going to create a Babymoon package for couples like us.

Dave and Jolene put together a nice afternoon to celebrate the up and coming baby while my parents were in town. We had a lot of fun playing games and socializing. Instead of being an afternoon of tea, it ended up being an afternoon of wine, minus me of course. Thanks Dave and Jolene for a wonderful afternoon, I know my parents greatly appreciated it.

New Do

Well I decided it was time for a change and chopped off my hair. It was taking me a hour to blow dry and straighten my hair and I figured once I had a baby I would definitely not have enough time to do my hair. I would have gone shorter but seeing as I have baby fat on my face and it is completely round that if I cut it shorter it would make me look even fatter!
